3 Words, Elliot Rodger, and The Gunshots That Were Never Heard

0

I wish Elliot Rodger had been taught about the love of Jesus Christ, but he wasn’t. I wish someone had taught him that abstinence until marriage was admirable, but no one did. I wish there were a concealed weapons carrier around to pop a cap in his butt before he completed his carnage, but there wasn’t. I wish his victims could’ve seen into the future like Michael J. Fox in order to warn police and get out of dodge, but they couldn’t, and we can’t bring them back. There’s no law in existence that will make a crazy man sane, nor one that can be created by a politician that a determined criminal won’t break. After the Sandy Hook massacre I made up my mind to live by a set of rules that encompass three words, and I hope you will too.

Mass murders in America are inevitable. Should we blame God when they occur? Or perhaps the NRA and like organizations? Should we ignore the alarming access the mentally ill have of obtaining guns only to see some of our families, friends, and neighbors dead as a result? Of course not! Blaming God, invoking more feel good gun control legislation, and ignoring America’s mentally ill won’t stop these evil acts from happening, but these three words will certainly make them more rare:

1.) Prayer: If you believe in the Bible and the power of prayer as I do, then you know we are to weep with those who weep and mourn with those who mourn, therefore, let us pray and grieve for all of the families involved first and foremost. Prayer elevates our thinking beyond symptomatic knee jerk fixes like gun control, video games, movies, music, girls that may or may not have ignored this assassin, and helps us to focus on the real issues as we align our minds with Christ. In the case of Elliot Rodger the real heart of the issues are his lack of a relationship with God, and a mental illness that was not adequately treated. We have to stop expecting “good and moral” behavior from people whose hearts aren’t filled with the one who is truly good-Jesus. Let’s face it, the concept of Hell (eternal damnation) is a better deterrent than prison to those that are bent on committing such evil acts of violence. It’s nonsensical for Leftist to continue blaming God when incidents like this occur since they’ve advocated taking God out of our homes, schools and textbooks, government, and even our hearts if they could help it. God is the antidote for such senseless violence. However, we live in a fallen world plagued by sin where people can make their own choices; if God is ignored and a criminal has no internal struggle with his soul, and the external threat of imprisonment or execution doesn’t deter him, and medicine doesn’t do the trick, then the next best option is a bullet. Which brings me to my next point.

2.) Prepare: Did you know that total defensive gun uses between the public and private sector in America are estimated at 800,000 to 2.5 million annually (NRA magazine, Nov 2009 edition)? This means the left leaning media would have to report over 2,000 stories per day where guns were used to stop crime if they were going to be fair. They don’t report these facts because Democrat’s are interested in control not safety. More legal guns in America has always equated to less crime; criminals understand this, and it’s about time Democrat’s do. In fact, the larger cities across the country that are controlled by Democrat’s have the strictest gun control laws, yet they also have the highest rates of crime with guns and other weapons. The most naive and dangerous words any citizen could utter in a fallen world is “this will never happen to me.” Arming yourself legally will never completely curtail evil behavior, but it’s a great start.

3.) Accept: No matter what we do we will never stop mass murders in America! As long as our residence is a sinful world (a place separated from God due to our behavior that grieves God’s heart) evil will never cease to exist. In fact, understanding the depths of evil and depravity of man is paramount to our survival, because it frees us from the false notion that we can create a utopian society here on earth. Once we accept the fact that we can’t control what every person does, we can move towards preventing attacks like the Columbine’s, Sandy Hook massacre, Ft. Hood, and the latest with Elliot Rodger realistically. Until we see the physical face of Christ, we will continue to see the metaphorical face of evil on earth. Don’t bother reading the Elliot Rodger manifesto to learn what was in his heart, instead I’d recommend reading the Bible to learn what wasn’t. Again I say pray, prepare, accept.

HETEROPHOBIA: Fear of a Straight Planet

Are your windows locked, shades drawn, doors shut, walls soundproofed, garage closed, and Donald Sterling’s girlfriend nowhere in sight? Good, let’s chat. Talking about gays has become as taboo as Conservatives criticizing President Obama’s policies. If you were to ask 97% of Americans behind closed doors what they thought of Michael Sam’s public display of affection (PDA) with his boyfriend during the NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins censorship and reeducation of Don Jones as a result of his reaction to Michael Sam’s PDA, the Benham brother’s banishment from HGTV due to their faith , or about California’s attempt to name gay men “mothers,” and lesbians “fathers” on birth certificates, I’m convinced most would be concerned about the unfair and discriminatory treatment of Christians, Conservatives, and heterosexuals both in media and by the LGBTQ community. Truth be known, LGBTQ activist are often bullies that prefer extra rights over equal rights, and government censorship of their opposition rather than tolerance. Face it, LGBTQ’s don’t fear traditional values, they fear that those of us with traditional values are right. Let me explain.

Since I wrote an article two years ago entitled “Gay Activists Attempt to Bully Chick-Fil-A,” their bigotry, intolerance, and hypocrisy towards Christians is undeniable. As I stated above, the LGBTQ want extra rights not equal rights; their demand for extra Constitutional rights is evident in the activist judges and politicians they support in order to usurp the votes of their fellow citizens. The rest of us are left longing for the good old days (3 years ago) when equal rights were in style. By using the 14th Amendment out of context, they’ve managed to convince many people that Civil Rights apply to same sex partnerships, when in actuality Civil Rights are inalienable rights given to us all by God. I don’t expect fewer or additional rights under the Constitution because I’m black (an actual civil right), nor should gays expect extra protection under the Constitution because they’re gay (a sexual choice and behavior). I can’t marry a person of the opposite sex and expect my boss to purchase their benefits, but they can choose to marry someone of the same sex. Minorities should be offended when LGBTQ’s piggy back on the Civil Rights Movement. We can’t change our skin color behind closed doors, but they can change their behavior-just look at the ever increasing acronym of LGBTQ for proof. Sex was created by God as an expression of love. It neither defines love, or who you are as a whole person.

Consider the practical ramifications of a predominantly gay society. Heterosexual marriage (sacred marriage) benefits society in ways same sex marriage (state marriage) cannot. Population growth and new tax payers, which are essential for a thriving economy, can only be produced by heterosexual relationships. Now, let’s reverse numbers for a second. If gays were 97% of America’s population instead of 3%, the United States would cease to exist in just one generation. Logic dictates that it’s important for any nation to encourage healthy heterosexual marriages. That’s not discriminatory, it’s smart.

Secondly, LGBTQ activists claim they want tolerance and diversity, but what they really desire is censorship of Christians. They’re seeking a moral legitimacy that can only come from God. It’s no longer enough for one to simply agree with gay activists, or accept their lifestyle. Nowadays, you must assist them in advancing their cause even at the expense of your own faith. This is why many LGBTQ activists reject faith in the public square. If God isn’t real, then morality is subjective. In addition, if gays were as comfortable in their own skin as they claim, they’d be celebrating their differences (diversity) instead of trying to copy cat traditional marriage. If the LGBTQ community wants genuine tolerance where we can all agree to disagree yet still be friends, then using bully tactics to silence opposition, and forcing their values on others is a bad place to start. By definition, a “Civil Right” cannot be used to destroy the rights of others.

Finally, everyone wants their life to matter, and LGBTQ individuals are no different. I’ve already established that they’re looking for moral legitimacy. Therefore, if Traditionalist are right about marriage, that is, that it’s meant for one man and one woman, then gays would have to concede that their relationships do not measure up. Personally, I’d hate to be part of any relationship where another person determines my worth. Consider the Black Panthers or the KKK (and no I’m not comparing gays to racist bigots), if ethnic groups didn’t exist for these groups to hate, their lives would be irrelevant. Likewise, many in the homosexual community are mistakenly identifying their worth based on what they do and who they love, instead of who they are.

LGBTQ Americans don’t deserve our scorn, but rather our love and prayers. It saddens me to know that so many people search for their purpose, sense of belonging, and identity in whom they choose to sleep with. Imagine sitting in front of a counselor and being asked to list all of the attributes that make you who you are. Unless you’re seeing a sex therapist, sex probably wouldn’t even come up. Perhaps you’re a mother, a son, a friend, generous, kind, patient, selfless, ambitious, entrepreneurial, hard working, funny, smart, articulate, strong willed, humble, organized, etc. Why ignore all of the attributes that make you unique? In short, if your worth is identified by your lover instead of the lover of your soul, you better hope that person never leaves you. However, when you find your value in the one who created you and made you unique, you’ll never have to picket, vote, or sue for affirmation, and you’ll never be alone.

6 Reasons why Donald Sterling should be reinstated into the NBA until Capitalism kicks him out

1

Make no mistake about it, the NBA’s effort to oust Los Angeles Clipper’s owner Donald Sterling has become less about racism and more about making the commandeering of a private business acceptable to Americans. This may not be true for the average black person who is justifiably indignant over Sterling’s comments, but it is why President Obama weighed in. Unlike the phony and misdirected outrage of the NAACP, NBA players and owners, and even the sports media that remained complicit with Donald Sterling’s racist views for over thirty years, I would’ve never tolerated his bigotry for a second.

Leftist news outlets like MSNBC can’t buy ratings. That’s why we’ve seen sports media like ESPN take the baton in the relay race to see who can agitate and dumb down the culture quickest. Should Donald Sterling have his team taken from him in a free America? No! Should he suffer the consequences of losing his team in a Capitalistic America based upon sponsorship loss and players who are willing to Boycott games? Yes!

Let’s be honest, the Clipper players, coaches, and staff knew who Sterling was, or found out at some point in the past 30 years. Nevertheless they made a conscience decision to continue working for him anyway. Why? Because they loved seeing the white face of Benjamin Franklin more than they despised seeing the signature of a white racist named Donald Sterling on their paycheck. All of a sudden, in a mad dash to keep their black credibility they have to act outraged due to an illegal taping that ”confirmed” what they already knew. Likewise, the NAACP was willing to turn a blind eye to Sterling’s racism as long as he greased the skids. Therefore, in lieu of the subjective moral outrage of the NBA, ESPN, and the NAACP who tolerated, isolated, and covered up Sterling’s hatred for decades, I’ve developed my own list of reasons why Donald Sterling should stay in the NBA until Capitalism says otherwise.

1.) Forgiveness is a common theme in the NBA, so it must be the first reason Sterling should be allowed to stay. Thanks to Ben Shapiro of Breitbart.com we are reminded that Latrell Sprewell was reinstated after choking his head coach, Spike Lee sits courtside despite his racist rants against whites, and Jay-Z has been welcomed while rocking a Five Percent Nation necklace which sees whites as Devils. Kobe Bryant, Matt Barnes, Amare Stoudemire, and Roy Hibbert each used gay slurs and were forgiven. Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest (aka Meta World Peace ), and Jermaine O’neal started a riot with fans in Detroit and were forgiven. JJ Redick requires girlfriends to sign kill-my-baby abortion contracts with no forgiveness needed. Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other as if they’re in the Wild Wild West and all was forgiven. JR Smith killed a passenger in his car by driving recklessly, and continued playing in the NBA after serving only a 9 game suspension. Based on this line-up, it seems that the NBA would be quick to forgive a racist like Donald Sterling. Repentance is an essential component to forgiveness however, and thus far I’ve seen no evidence that any of these guys have repented.

2.) Crony Civil Rights Activism is yet another reason for the NBA to reconsider Donald Sterling’s lifetime ban. The NAACP was a great organization until Progressive Democrats took it over, then it became a funnel for “legal” extortion, and Donald Sterling may be an example of that. The NAACP claims to fight for the plight of the black man, but has effectively shown that their outrage, or in this case lack thereof, can be silenced with some Benjamin’s. It really makes you wonder just how often the NAACP has betrayed its dark skin brotha’s and sista’s for their color of preference, green.

3.) Taping individuals for the mere purpose of establishing national thought police should terrify us all, especially after President Obama’s NSA scandal. Can you imagine how many NBA player’s would be banned from the game if their private thoughts, and locker room talk were exposed for all to hear and see? Just a couple of months ago I listened to a taped interview of Charles Barkley on ESPN radio admitting the “N” word, and other racial slurs, homophobic talk, and sex were just some of the things spoken of in the privacy of the NBA locker room. However, last week he came out against Donald Sterling. Destroying the livelihood of anyone, even with racist views, is a dangerous precedent to set. Although, this isn’t necessarily a first amendment issue, it would certainly undermine it.

4.) Capitalism was working fine! Sponsors were dropping the Clipper’s left and right, and as my friend Johnny Gunnz reminded me, this took pressure away from the players to make a decision to Boycott themselves. Sterling more than likely, would’ve been forced to either sell his team for a discounted price or step aside by resigning or retiring in order to retain its value. Instead NBA Commissioner Adam Silver caved to Socialist mob rule from outsiders and dished out a lifetime ban on Sterling. This is almost certain to make Sterling fight for his team in a long arduous legal battle that could’ve been avoided, and is certain to make the lives of everyone involved miserable.

5.) The term “slippery slope” has become such a cliche’ we forget that it’s still crucial when we’re thinking critically and long term. This maneuver by the NBA is a slippery slope to Fascism. Thank God we’re still talking about the confiscation of a private business…for now! However, we’re talking about confiscation nonetheless. Did the man commit a crime? The fact that American citizens are being agitated to a point where they are willing to see a private citizens business forcibly taken away is chilling. One can only pray they never have to face this outrage over their private conversations themselves.

6.) Last but not least, consider the unity of all Americans that has manifested as a result of this news story. This story should have American’s, minorities especially, jumping for joy and praising God. Why? Well, because what we’re witnessing with Donald Sterling is just how far race relations have progressed in the last several decades. As Black Americans we can be proud that the world has stood with us, and rallied against the racist. Unfortunately, due to race pimps like the NAACP, America is missing a great opportunity to celebrate the rarity of seeing or hearing true racism. Thank God in America people like Donald Sterling are now the exception and not the rule.
