Social Issues are the GOP’s Gateway to the Ghetto

0

No one grows up with aspirations of government dependency. Social issues give Conservatives the perfect opportunity to prove their the big brothers to Americans and not the bullies. Can you imagine what America might look like today if the first Republican president Abraham Lincoln had not taken on the social issues of his day, slavery and polygamy?

Imagine being the parents of Sandra Fluke as you observe your child beg for subsidized condoms on national television during the 2012 DNC. How disappointing. No father tells his son ” work hard, go to college and get on food stamps as soon as possible.” No little girl wearing a princess dress and a blinged out plastic tiara dreams of marrying her prince charming then aborting her firstborn. Leftist are transforming our men into boys, our women into usable goods, and their favorite targets are minorities.

According to BlackGenocide.org 78% of Planned Parenthood clinics are located in minority communities. Who’s going to fight against the existential threat that’s being perpetrated against my people due to the Left’s social policies? Republicans use to be the definitive answer.

Welfare, chronic poverty, and moral decadence are by-products of the left’s social issues and not vice-versa. In other words, democrats sell welfare under the guise of “help,” knowing their programs create perpetual government dependency rather than improve the lives of their constituents. Democrats vote for their leaders because they believe they “care” about the personal plight of “the little man” – social issues.

I’m dumbfounded when I hear some of my fellow Republican’s say “stay away from the social issues.” As if the Democrat platform is about anything but social issues! Whether it be civil rights, equitable pay in the workplace,  “women’s rights” -aka abortion or gay marriage, democrats often win votes by capturing the hearts, ire and imagination of their constituents. To be frank, the Left has successfully courted Hispanic and black communities because they run towards social issues, not away from them!

Hard core leftist will never agree with Conservatives on entitlements. However, the two issues the GOP have in common with most minority groups are freedom of religion, and love of family. These issues serve as a bridge to the hearts and minds of those that often disagree with us on numerous policy issues.

If you’ve read my bio you know that I’m a former liberal. What you may not know is that it was a social issue that led me on my journey to conservatism- father’s rights. Mired in a long and arduous custody battle (seven years on and off) for my child, my political philosophy began to evolve from left to right. I began expecting a miracle from God rather than government. Once I personally experienced government overreach in the courtroom, it wasn’t a far stretch to believe that my political worldview was suspect.

Consequently, I began questioning virtually everything Democrats would say. I even went so far as to begin reading black conservative authors such as Frederick Douglass (oldie but goodie), Larry Elder, Star Parker, Thomas Sowell, Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, and Walter Williams. I learned about the Negro Project, and eugenicist, racist and founder of Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger for the first time. Thanks to others like Michelle Malkin, and David Barton of Wall Builders, who’s in depth research connected the dots between American history (including black republican congressman during Reconstruction I never knew existed), leftist lunacy of the day, and the lefts co-opting of civil rights, the scales quickly began to fall from my eyes. I was enraged that I had supported the very policies as Margaret Sanger. I attribute much of  my ignorance white liberal propaganda and guilt that plagued my school textbooks and media.

I felt as though I was discovering America for the first time.  It wasn’t long before I could no longer justify much of what I once believed with my newly found Christian faith, as well as a fresh knowledge of history. In all conceivable matters, intact families and marriage, economically and spiritually, blacks were better off prior to the Democrats War On Poverty and Roe V. Wade. Don’t you believe they deserve to know the truth?

As the old cliche goes, “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Social issues, when communicated effectively, proves we care.

The GOP’s 2016 Race to Defeat

0

What does President Obama and the GOP leadership have in common? They’ve both become reactionary rather than visionary. This is but one of the reasons that lead me to conclude the GOP’s 2016 hopes aren’t as bright as I hoped for 2016. I’m not even convinced 2014 is a lock.

I live in Orlando, Florida, home of the “I-4 Corridor.” After my congressman John “bring home the bacon” Mica handily defeated his primary challengers by running a dirty campaign and using the power of his incumbency to both implement and take credit for some of his opponents ideas he’d heard on the campaign trail before primary day, it became clear to me why there was such an abysmal turnout of just less than fifteen percent of registered voters. Republicans of all backgrounds feel disenfranchised. Orlando was a microcosm of the political landscape all across the nation. Incumbents won big! This may bring comfort to the Republican establishment,  but it says a lot more about their chances in 2016 than they realize.

I wrongly predicted Mitt Romney would defeat President Obama in 2012 and I wasn’t alone. However, this go round is different and the evidence is indisputable. Recall the 2010 midterms when conservatives swept the GOP primaries because voters like myself were excited to come out in droves for the general election. Unlike 2010, this is Obama’s second midterm, all sides have lost credibility in the eyes of their constituents and we have yet to hear a cohesive message from establishment Republicans – unless they’re blaming the Tea Party for last year’s government shutdown. Since we Conservatives experienced such sweeping success in 2010 thanks to the Tea Party, we wrongfully expected that enthusiasm to carry over into the 2012 presidential election. It didn’t.  Approximately four million uninspired registered Republicans stayed home. Should we expect better results now that Congress has a single-digit approval rating?

In fact, according to Pew Research “in surveys going back to last October, neither party has opened up a large lead in the generic ballot.” Compare the bit of history in the above mentioned paragraph to what we’ve just seen happen in the GOP primaries across the country. Couple that with the fact that generic polling seems to indicate a tightening of races instead of a runaway election for the GOP, and you have a recipe for disaster. The Arizona gubernatorial race is a prime example. “Status quo” candidates easily won by outspending their primary opponents and essentially suppressing a more conservative messaging. The problem is GOP leadership has been virtually silent since Romney’s defeat in 2012. Outside of D.C. and talk radio no one knows what the GOP stand for, and it appears far more of the base is uninspired about their GOP candidates than in 2012.

Democrat’s have effectively suppressed the GOP message by race baiting them into submission. Obama may not be a good president but he’s an excellent campaigner that knows how to use his race-or at least one of them, to get what he wants. He’s sown disunity amongst Republicans so much so that the GOP could only get fifteen percent of their base to come out on primary day this year, in a swing state like Florida no less! Republicans no longer trust Democrats or Republicans to solve our nation’s problems. Despite Obamacare, Benghazi, new revelations on the IRS scandal, the ISIS debacle, the phony outrage in Ferguson, and a horrific economy, Republicans simply aren’t excited about their candidates. Just like ISIS, Vladimir Putin, Assad, and Boko Haram who have called Obama’s bluff, likewise the Republican base is calling the GOP’s bluff when it comes to putting a stop to the Democrats out-of-control spending, and President Obama’s usurpation of the Constitution- our referee in the game of freedom.

Establishment money may have worked for the GOP primaries in 2014, but finances are unlikely to be a factor in the general election since Democrat’s have outraised Republicans. The Republican base is sick of our politicians being reactionary! We want visionaries! In 2016 the GOP will perceivably have the same leadership, and many of the same congressman we see today. It’s been virtually crickets on Capitol Hill, with the exception of a few Republicans. Do we really expect John Boehner and Mitch McConnell to sound the alarm for 2016 in the face of political correctness?

Their silence has been deafening against a black president who is an extremist, and mostly Hispanic illegal immigrants crossing the border. Can you imagine how far they’ll shrink back if the Left nominates a female candidate for president? Unfortunately, momentum is rolling on the wrong side of the aisle in D.C. leading up to 2016; not because Democrat voters are enthusiastic about their prospects per se, but because the GOP base is unenthusiastic about ours.

Short of a charismatic constitutionalist for our 2016 GOP nominee that’s capable of electrifying the base, dismantling extreme left wing arguments, connecting with average everyday Americans as Reagan did, devising a simple five to ten point plan of action for American prosperity going forward as Sean Hannity has suggested, and ungluing the mouths of our current leadership, the road to 2016 will be a bumpy ride, and the race to victory even more treacherous.

The Golf Course is Obama’s Faculty Lounge

0

His thoughts are higher than our thoughts, and his ways are higher than our ways. No, I’m not talking about Jesus Christ, but President Obama’s perception of himself. The problem with our president is he views restraint as an absolute virtue, and the golf course as his faculty lounge.

The nation was shocked to its core last week as we witnessed the brutal beheading of American photojournalist James Foley at the hand of ISIS. However, what followed next left even Liberals like Maureen Dowd of the New York Times (read The Golf Address) with a nasty taste in their mouths. President Obama’s tepid response to the murder of James Foley left much to be desired, but his trip to the golf course immediately following his speech garnered criticism from the left that is all too rare.

However, in his defense the president has been consistent. He doesn’t see heroism in the traditional sense like most Americans, and he’d rather hear the praise from his friends and fawning supporters than the consultation of his cabinet and military generals. This is nothing new. Although you and I were disappointed at President Obama’s pit stop speech on James Foley before heading to the greens, you can rest assured he was patting himself on the back for another Academy Award winning performance. We the Pee-ons may have wanted to avenge the gruesome death of James Foley, but what do we know? When we played cops and robbers as kids we were dumb enough to believe the robbers were the bad guys. Under President Obama’s Justice Department robbers are civil rights heroes.

Rush Limbaugh is right. Obama hasn’t checked out, like Karen Carpenter, he’s only just begun. JV despots like Obama don’t care to compromise, negotiate, or even communicate with Congress – Republican or Democrat. He sees no point in debating with inferior minds. What tyrant do you know of cares to placate the media when he knows they’re at his beck and call? Whatever mishap he makes now, they’ll be sure and revise come election time. Obama’s minions are at work in every department of our government. Does it matter how much he golfs, when he knows his subordinates are there to carry out his purposes? He hasn’t checked out! When you govern in a quasi dictatorial fashion as he does others check in!

If you don’t believe president Obama views restraint as a moral virtue, take a trip with me down memory lane. President Obama exercised “restraint” with President Assad of Syria when we believed he was gassing his own people. The President went so far as to draw a “red line” in the sand only to practice restraint once it was crossed. In this case however, thank God he was right to dither, even if by sheer accident. The Syrian rebels that wanted our help uprooting the Syrian president at the time are known as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) today. Vladimir Putin continues to advance against Ukraine. Where’s our president? Israel faces an existential threat as rockets rain down on the Holy Land from the Gaza strip by the terrorist organization Hamas, only to have Obama’s JV team (aka John Kerry) demand that Israel use “restraint” as they defend their very lives. Recall the concept of the Medal Of honor for “Courageous Restraint” that began to grow legs under Obama’s leadership in 2010. Thank God it didn’t come to fruition!

In the minds of Leftists restraint requires patience, logic, reason, understanding, virtue, and acceptance of cultures unlike our own, including Middle Eastern terrorist. They believe this “restraint” makes them better people. In their minds it’s only a matter of time before liberal compassion leads to repentance, even from the likes of ISIS. The rest of us are but silly unintelligent war-mongering cowboys just like George W. Bush.

When President Obama rushes off to the golf course he’s not just simply looking for a good time and relaxation. He’s looking for applause and affirmation from like minded elitist who don’t question his political actions, but revere them. It’s his faculty lounge minus the toaster and coffee maker. He’s free from criticism. He’s free from accountability. When he leaves his faculty lounge break room (the golf course) he feels refreshed, energized, and renewed to continue his crusade in bringing America down to size.  Frankly, the more he golfs the more concerned American loving people should be.

Michael Brown’s Family Deserves Better Than Black-On-Black Justice

1

Can we stop reincarnating Trayvon Martin and Rodney King every time an altercation between  black and white males occur-police or otherwise?

St. Louis is in shambles after the loss of 18 year old Michael Brown, who was shot and killed by a police officer on Saturday. The facts of the incident that led to his death remain largely unknown, but that didn’t stop looters from destroying and robbing businesses in Ferguson (a suburb of St. Louis) in the name of “justice.” Having lived through the Los Angeles riots I’m not sure which is worse,  black-on-black crime or black-on-black justice.

Consider whites, Hispanics, Asians, Indians, Arabs, and Jews. Have you ever heard of any other people group besides blacks that execute justice on their own community by rioting and looting their own neighborhood businesses for the sake of protesting a perceived injustice? How many blacks will lose jobs because local shopkeepers are no longer in business to hire them, or because they decide to move out of the community? How will the riots and looting affect local property values? How many teens will turn to selling dope and fall prey to senseless crimes because the job market is scarce? Looters don’t care about justice! I doubt they can even spell it! They’re opportunist that want free stuff even if it means crawling over an ice cold corpse to get it!

To her credit, Lesley McSpadden (mother of Michael Brown) spoke out against the looting immediately. She didn’t want any of the rioting associated with the memory of her son. Although I strongly disagree with the hiring of Trayvon Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump before the facts of the case are released, I applaud the family for seeking legal justice as opposed to flaming the flames of racism – something Al Sharpton is certain to do upon his arrival in Ferguson. Trayvon Martin may not have deserved to die but he was no innocent bystander. At the time of his death it was he who initiated the physical altercation with George Zimmerman; he was experienced in street brawling, he was under the influence of an intoxicant, and he was slamming Zimmerman’s head on concrete. All of these facts were corroborated by witnesses but downplayed by the media in order to perpetuate a racist narrative that was sure to help Democrat’s during the 2012 election year.

As far as we know  Michael Brown is no Trayvon Martin, and he shouldn’t be compared to him, nor should this case. Every incident has unique evidence that must be examined on a case-by-case basis. Blacks will never be satisfied as long as we continue to spell justice R-A-C-I-S-M. If all you see is skin color before the evidence of a case is presented, perhaps it’s you that is the racist.

It never ceases to amaze me when black communities ignore deaths caused by black-on-black crime but are willing to riot if a white man kills a black man-even in self defense! When a white man kills a black man the media blames race and holds the white man accountable. When a black man kills another black man the media blame guns, the NRA and Republicans. Truth be known, it’s easier to shout “racism” than it is to look in the mirror. Democrats have effectively trained my people to be mad before they think. Therefore, we never even consider whether or not the sin in our own neighborhoods contribute to the death of our youth.

Instead of blaming whites for all of our problems let’s talk about why it’s imperative for young black males to have a father in the home. Let’s tell black women don’t have kids by three different men so someone will want to marry you. Lets tell our young men they’ll be responsible for taking care of a household one day so they should learn to respect, protect and provide for women. Lets tell them that church isn’t just a building, and that Jesus expects us to live out the principles we learn about on Sunday throughout the entire week. Let’s tell our people to use the gifts God has given them to pursue a career instead of being seduced by the almighty welfare check.

Let us seek justice at the expense of revenge so once the dust settles we can unite as one nation under God, instead of continually divide ourselves based on the color of our skin.

Why The NFL “Tebowed” Tony Dungy over Michael Sam

0

There’s a reason Michael Sam was the 249th pick in the Seventh round of the NFL draft; the owners, coaches, and GM’s alike determined he wasn’t good enough to endure the media circus that would accompany him. Tony Dungy has found himself in the midst of a PC firestorm  because he had the courage to say what everyone else thought about the rookie pick.

Make no mistake about it, Tony Dungy is being crucified by some of his colleagues in sports media not because they disagree with him, but like Tim Tebow, because of whom and what he represents – Christ, common sense, decency, and objective truth. In order for immoral behavior to be accepted in any culture moral behavior as well as the source of that moral behavior (Jesus Christ) must be demonized. Political flunky, womanizer, and all around arrogant jerk Keith Olbermann went so far as to say that Tony Dungy is “the worst person in the sports world.” Really Keithy Pooh? Only in a society that refuses to recognize moral absolutes can degenerate bullies like Keith Olbermann get away with spewing such nonsense and vitriol.

It’s become increasingly apparent that sports networks are following in the footsteps of MTV; they’re just as focused on shaping culture as they are displaying talent. The sports medias hyperbolic and hypocritical reaction to Tony Dungy’s statement regarding whether or not he would’ve drafted Michael Sam proves the Michael Sam pick was just as much a political and cultural calculation for the NFL as it was legitimate.

Do you realize Tony Dungy has been the only NFL analyst truly “tolerant” of Michael Sam’s lifestyle despite his Christian worldview? He’s the only national analyst that has publicly treated Michael Sam “fairly and equally.” Why? He’s judged Michael Sam based on his capabilities and not his sexuality. Isn’t this what the LGBT community claims they want…fairness and equality?

When Mr. Dungy told Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune “I wouldn’t have taken him. Not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it,” it was obvious that he was speaking of the media distraction that would affect an entire team and staff. I suspect he was blindsided by the media colonoscopy he’s receiving because he knew everyone in his studio, around the water cooler, and his viewing audience agreed with him.

As NFL fans we all hope that Michael Sam succeeds based on his play on the field and not who he has sex with off the field.

There’s a valuable lesson to be learned here. The Left’s Triune God, their “Untouchable’s” per se, consist of minorities, women, and gays. The NFL is being successfully emasculated by the Left as evidenced by their pink apparel, the exhortation of an openly gay male in an otherwise super masculine sport, and now the demonization of a coach that epitomizes what it means to be a real man.  Those of us that are Christian, Conservatives, or both should expect persecution. However, we can rest assured that even if we’re the only voice crying in the wilderness we’re still right.
